This exhibition, which offered an overview of contemporary architecture in the U.S., consisted of two parts: one on "classical" architecture, and one on the work of the "modernists." Nelson was responsible for choosing the 106 projects shown in the second part of the exhibition and designing the exhibition presentation.
The projects selected included two by George Nelson and three by the industrial designers Russell Wright, Raymond Loewy, and Henry Dreyfuss. The cover of the exhibition brochure was designed by Alexander Calder.
